A new partnership with EIZO: strengthening image viewing capacity in Ghana and The Gambia
We're pleased to share news of a new partnership with EIZO, whose UK arm, EIZO Limited, is donating 15 sets of RadiForce diagnostic dual monitors to three of our partner sites in Ghana and The Gambia.
Reporting capacity is one of the quieter constraints on radiology services. Where there are too few workstations, images queue, reporting slows, and the opportunities for trainees to sit alongside more experienced colleagues and learn from real cases are limited. This donation is a response to that specific need, identified by our partners.

Where the monitors are going
Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Ghana - a 1,200-bed referral hospital and one of only three radiology training centres in the country. Radiologists there have been sharing two reporting stations. Eight new dual-monitor sets will allow more colleagues to report side by side, easing delays and creating more room for case-based teaching.
Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH), The Gambia - 5 sets will support the country's young radiology training programme, where residents and lecturers have been managing heavy workloads with limited image viewing equipment.
MRC Clinic, The Gambia - two sets will support a site with no on-site radiologist, where remote specialist input is central to how imaging is reported. Clearer image viewing supports more confident decisions locally.
Support that goes beyond the equipment
Donated equipment only makes a difference if it is installed properly, used well and maintained over time. That is why this partnership includes in-person technical support: a UK-based EIZO product specialist will travel to Ghana to assist with installation and training, so the monitors are embedded into everyday practice rather than simply delivered.
Dr Liz Joekes, Director and Consultant Radiologist at Worldwide Radiology, said:
"Worldwide Radiology's work is all about bringing together people and organisations with a shared vision of improving access to medical imaging diagnostics, and making sure solutions are appropriate and sustainable. This donation will allow more trainee radiologists in The Gambia and more specialist radiologists in Ghana to review imaging studies — increasing patient throughput and much needed opportunities for clinical case-based learning. Clearer, more reliable diagnosis means patients receive answers sooner, families gain reassurance and clinicians can act with greater confidence."
Dr Kwasi Adjepong Twum, Senior Specialist Radiologist at KATH, added:
"Access to high-quality diagnostic monitors is essential for accurate image interpretation, especially in resource-limited settings. This donation will strengthen our reporting capacity, support faster diagnoses and create valuable training opportunities, ultimately improving patient care."
Colin Woodley, CEO of EIZO Limited, said:
"When we learned about the incredible work being carried out by Liz and the entire Worldwide Radiology team, we recognised an opportunity to support an initiative that closely aligns with our own values and purpose. Our commitment extends beyond providing technology. Through training, expertise and ongoing support, we strive to help strengthen radiological services and create lasting value for healthcare professionals and patients alike."
Working together
Our work rests on long-term, trust-based collaborations with partners who know their own context best. Partnerships with organisations like EIZO allow us to respond to needs our partners have identified themselves, and to do so in a way that works and lasts.
We're grateful to EIZO for the care they have brought to this, and we look forward to seeing the difference it makes at all three sites.
